You have two options for obtaining your Alaska Sport fishing license, which is required to catch fish on our tours:

  1. Purchase a physical license at the following stores locate in Fairbanks(make sure to check for opening/holiday hours): Big Ray’s, Sportsman’s Warehouse, Frontier Outfitters, Walmart.
  2. Buy your fishing license online here: http://www.adfg.alaska.gov/Store/

Important things to remember when purchasing a fishing license:

  • Each participating angler, 16 years or older in age, is required to carry a valid Alaskan fishing license with them while fishing (no exceptions).
  • Residents need current sport fishing license or Non-resident will need a Non-resident fishing license per day (24 hours).
  • You do NOT need a king salmon stamp.
  • Non-resident fishing licenses are $15.
  • After buying your license online you will receive an email from Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADFG) with the electronic (.pdf) copy of your license.
  • Licenses still need to be signed: To sign on your phone, use the edit or pencil/draw function on the downloaded .pdf and sign using your fingertip. Only signed licenses with the accurate date & time (24h from start time of tour) are accepted.
  • You will need to save the license to be able to still pull it up when you do not have cell/data reception in remote ice fishing locations. To save, either take a screenshot or save a copy to your “files” app on your phone. Bring a valid picture ID and the fishing license with you on the tour.

Be aware: It is your responsibility to acquire and provide required valid Alaskan fishing license when asked by a guide, wildlife trooper (game warden), park ranger, or any other legal authority. Failing to provide the fishing license can result in being denied participation in a tour, being fined, or denied the future ability to acquire a valid fishing license in Alaska.

Typical tours consist of 2-6 people, but we frequently accommodate larger groups. If you are planning a large tour for a work group, family reunion, or other large event, don’t hesitate to contact us and ask about other arrangements.

While fishing, your fish will be sorted to keep them separate and to keep track of fishing limits per person. After your tour, your guides will clean and package your fish into simple plastic bags for transport. Frequently fish will already be frozen due to the cold temperatures and will help you get them back to where you can store them for future transport.  We can also offer you advice on packaging and transport.
